I have those options when I walk out the door where I am at any time especially on the weekends. Ok what about live theatre? Comedy clubs? Movie theaters that show independent films? local band shows? Gallery Openings? Also the Olde Ship is fun on trivia night. Lola's is a wonderful gem, Crosby is always popping after 11, and Copper Door is the kind of gem you don't expect 'round these parts. Full of yuppie hipsters who like exotic tapas and trendy drinks. Paul's is great though, and Haven is perfect for Happy Hour and relaxing. Chapman students all dressed up and wishing they were in LA. Commonwealth is a good place to pick up a chick who wears too much makeup. Slidebar is fun, trashy, and full of leather. College kids and rockabilly crowd mainly. Detroit and Avalon are great for hipsters, Shark Bar for Asians, Sutra for Persians, and Goat Hill for a young, varied crowd that loves cheap beer. Half-Huntington Beach Ed Hardy types, half rich South County kids, half grizzly old surfers. That might give you some idea of how it is. They considered having Season 2 of Jersey Shore here. Fun, laid-back, albeit full of douches and bro-hos. ![]() It ain't New York, but there's lots of options for young people: Second of all, there's plenty to do here.
